This is a wonderfully spacious, bright and airy home overlooking Portacarron Bay. We are located right on the waters edge, with private access to the lake from our own boat dock.

We, the Faherty Costelloe family are delighted to welcome you to our very own slice of paradise!! Snuggled on the Western Shore of Lough Corrib we are only minutes drive from the village of Oughterard and a mere 20 – 30 mins drive from the vibrant and colourful city of Galway.

All our rooms are ensuite and have recently been refurbished. We offer four large lake view suites and four garden rooms. Each room has its own entrance from the garden, with a wrap around deck so that you can enjoy the views and the sounds of the countryside.

The atmosphere here is welcoming and relaxed, our hope is that you will forget the toils and tribulations of everyday life and enjoy what nature has to offer on our doorstep. The only rush  hour you will experience is that of the population of the hedgerows and woodlands at dusk and again at dawn as they busy themsleves with the task of feeding themsleves and their young. If you are lucky you may meet Peggy and Rupert, our resident swans as they hiss and waddle up the lane from the water for some of the mornings left over toast!

The house first opened its doors to guests nearly 40 years ago, and was run by Mary and Lal Faherty. Taking advantage of their unique location and his love of the lake and angling,  Lal set up the first Angling Centre of its kind on Lough Corrib and still runs it today, offering advice and encouragement to anglers from all over the world, and is always particularly pleased to welcome novices, and introduce them to the delights of fly fishing on his beloved Lough Corrib.  Mary is busier than ever now, as she supplies us with all our  breads, cakes, jams and fresh veggies from her garden. The house is still in the family and run by their daughter Annie, her husband Gary and their three children.

Breakfast and dinner are taken in the dining room with  magnificent views overlooking the water, breakfast choice is available with  homemade breads and jams. Dinner, which is a set menu, simple and homecooked,  is served on request, with 24 hrs notice, using, in season,  fresh veggies from Mary’s organic garden. Picnic baskets are also available and can be a lovely treat on a sunny day, enjoyed on one of the many islands dotted all over our wonderful lake.
